The Red Pyramid. Book one in the Kane Chronicles, by Rick Riordan. Same guy who wrote the Heroes of Olympus Series. I really liked those, so I wanted to read his other work. He's got this, and one other series going on right now that I plan on reading. I am not into Egyptian anything, at all... But this book was really good, and I was really *into* it from the beginning.
